tvannorman Did you remove brick or just cover it? If so was it difficult to attach the mantel and mdf?

skovash18 What's the paint color you used? Love it!!!

drouse35 Thanks everyone! We covered the fireplace, leaving the brick. We had a company build what we wanted and they came out and hung it. Took less than 30 minutes to hang. The wall color is "Dusty Lead" from Valspar at Lowes.

drouse35 Hsnydish, we left the brick and only recovered it. It was under $1000 to have it recovered and then we painted it. The marble, however, was a different story. It was costly, but well worth it.
The marble had to be at least 12 inches around to meet code. We also trimmed the inside a bit to give it a more finished look. Good luck with your remodel and thanks to everyone for the nice comments.
