Does this kitchen have enough room between island and counter tops? I am thinking of moving the cooktop off the island & refregerator. I am considereing range with double ovens instead of cooktop and double ovens. Any suggestions are appreciated.

6 feet is actually too much distance in between. Aim to have no more than 4'-6" of circulation space. The location of the fridge on the right photo seems to be competing with main thoroughfare to other parts of the house.
