Can you mix metals in design? Such as brushed nickel and gold. The majority of my pictures are framed in gold

hellsYEAH you can...we have brushed nickel and antiqued bronze/gold all over our house...gives it a modern/old world feel which I love! Just make sure you mix it all over (Don't have one wall all nickel, one all gold, etc.). I am sure there are pics on here somewhere...Here, check this out, especially the bedroom: http://www.houzz.com/photos/users/jlaubhan .

We have all our "contemporary" hardware in brushed nickel/stainless steel (curtain rods, lights, appliances, door knobs, stair rails) and the odd decor item...The rest of our decor is antiqued bronze/gold and rustic/tuscan looking...we also have dark wood and floors and granite and lots of greenery. Our other colours are soft warm greys, olive greens, rust, and some verdigris.
