Can you mix metals in design? Such as brushed nickel and gold. The majority of my pictures are framed in gold
Just some of my paintings and silver accents

thing1of4 hellsYEAH you can...we have brushed nickel and antiqued bronze/gold all over our house...gives it a modern/old world feel which I love! Just make sure you mix it all over (Don't have one wall all nickel, one all gold, etc.). I am sure there are pics on here somewhere...Here, check this out, especially the bedroom: http://www.houzz.com/photos/users/jlaubhan .

We have all our "contemporary" hardware in brushed nickel/stainless steel (curtain rods, lights, appliances, door knobs, stair rails) and the odd decor item...The rest of our decor is antiqued bronze/gold and rustic/tuscan looking...we also have dark wood and floors and granite and lots of greenery. Our other colours are soft warm greys, olive greens, rust, and some verdigris.
