NEED LANSCAPING AND SHUTTERS HELP!!!!
really need some landscaping ideas and would love to make old barn house style shutters but not sure how to do the large top window. Farm we live on is plentiful in large rocks, would love to make use of them. Just want any thoughts sent my way, trying to make decisions with spring on its way!
** since photo was taken, porch swings and two flower beds on either side of porch have been added! other than that, not sure where to start.

Carolyn Albert-Kincl Design Your windows are excellent candidates for shutters. On the topmost window, just shutter the rectangular portion, as arched shutters would not fit.

Your rocks will serve you well in your landscaping. You need trees and planting beds and a clear pathway to the house.

Because landscaping is an expensive endeavor, I recommend that you find a landscape architect or designer to draw a plan for you. Then you can implement the plan yourselves or with hired help.

mmilos Shutters on the lower windows in a dark color will make the windows look bigger, which will help. Don't to anything with the upper window.

Beef up the posts on the porch.

Keep the symmetry going by planting two, interesting tall trees sufficiently away from the house but on axis with the middle of each side wing. Tall trees will add a vertical element to help naturally break up the long facade.
