Converting our family area into a bedroom
Daphne Teo
January 22, 2013 in Design Dilemma
As I intend to convert our family area into a bedroom, I'm looking for suggestions to closeup the part stairs and part empty space. I've considered walling or glassing up the space but it's not aesthetically pleasing to the eye, help! The area is 13 feet by 6 feet.

For the empty space, you could maybe try some wooden shelving. Very useful and if installed properly, very elegant.

A mix of half wall and railings would provide some privacy while maintain the openness.

will you be able to do a simple sketch so I can understand how a wooden shelving can look elegant. my other concern is, is this practical?
