Backsplash and accent wall ideas?
Would also like to do something with the area under the bar. Thanks!

suesiewert How about facing the bar with wood panels that match the cabinetry. A cabinet shop can match them, or you could add some wood and frame it out yourself if you are handy. It will also hold up well to kicking feet from people sitting at the bar! There are lots of great glass tiles that would look nice as a backsplash...try running them vertically for a different look. Just a few ideas,

Cancork Floor Inc. You can add Stone-Cork glue down tiles to the bar...make it look like laid slate. A wall tile made of cork can look like laid field stone or brick.

Cork flooring tiles can offer you the look of marble, granite, bamboo, leather, etc.

Dytecture One option is to install wainscoting.

patriciarhall is that heavy texturing on the walls and island or is it faux painting?

Cancork Floor Inc. Oops, forgot to add the actual cork wall tiles. They run $4.99/sf and are a glue-in-place installation.

Susan Jablon Mosaics Hi caevans850!
You could put tile on the wall under the bar for a really unique look. A mosaic would look really beautiful! Below are some images of tile from our site as ideas/suggestions for this space, the backsplash and or under the bar. We have a lot of tiles and mosaics to choose from, and we have a program that allows you to create your own mosaic! Hope this helps, and good luck!
