Small entryway ideas, please!
We have a small entryway that opens into our formal living room, that we now use for a pool room. I don't know if I should use a bench, entry table, or something else...It looks bland right now and the fact that there is arched niche built in, I don't know what exactly to space. I am not tied to anything already in the space except the big chalkboard. Thanks in advanced!!

capecodgal A beautiful console table would look great under the arched niche with a large orchid in a beautiful planter. Also perhaps a great tray to drop your mail/keys when you walk in. Since your wall color is neutral, perhaps a large colorful painting on the wall to the left of the niche. Something large in scale to create a dramatic impact. Also you could go with black and white artwork to compliment the chalkboard. Either way, a large piece of art would look nice since you have very high ceilings.

Samphy E. Ok I'm trying to decide between these three consoles, not sure if I should go heavy table or minimal?

attianadeem I'd go with the last one. Considering the small space that would look nice.

Creations Nadia Interior Design if you want more drama

Interiors International, Inc. I agree add drama with a dark color on the walls and possible a glass sculpture in the niche. Paint the inside of that light or even better a metallic. BM has some beautiful colors in their metallic/opalescent line.

Interiors International, Inc. PS: every foyer needs a mirror so guest can check themselves when they enter and you can as you leave.

Creations Nadia Interior Design they can put a big mirror on the other wall....

capecodgal I think the first one is best. The other two feel a little less sturdy. Also, you could consider putting a chic wallpaper or grasscloth in the niche behind it with a mirror or your current piece for additional interest.

Donald Demilune table and look into having mirror sized to the niche

kimdee24 Isn't it bad feng shui or something to have the mirror pointing out the front door? I'd find a nice piece of art for the niche instead. Agreed with Nadia -- mirror on the adjacent wall.

Tijen Akada Actually niches arent favored in feng shui either. They symbolise entrigue and hidden truth from the owner of the house they say. This can be avoided by putting lamps to lighen up what is in them. Perhaps a nice picture symbolising the related part of the bagua and a lamp lighting it can be done. This of course makes sense if the homeowner believes in feng shui l'ke me :) Regards from Turkey...
