What's wrong and what color sofa?

I see a lot of off white sofa going with off white wall on houzz. That said I still feel that the current tenant's arrangement being strange, but can't put a finger on what's wrong. When I move in there's going to be no furnitures. What color Sofa should I get? I don't think I can paint, but maybe I can put up something like this (http://www.wallpanels3d.com/products.htm) to make an accent wall? Suggestion much appreciated!

Darzy What is wrong with this picture is the clutter. I actually like "white on white" with this gray shag rug. I wouldn't invest in 3d panels on a rental. They are expensive. Buy some great art and take it with you when you move.

Deborah Vanderzel Designs Since you are dealing with a small space. I would consider a loveseat and 2 comfortable chairs to start with, Once you start shopping you'll be inspired by color and fabric choices

Aja Mazin The cream sofa has a yellow undertone.

The walls have a pink undertone.

Aja Mazin Any colour you like that does not have yellow undertones.

Get white or cream if you wish, but avoid yellow undertones.
For example, if you want an off white sofa, then look for a off white with a gray undertone.

Aja Mazin I like this kind of ceiling light.

Easy to clean and it will not yellow with age.

Have you seen those organic "rope" rugs?
