My wife's fireplace idea
My wife and I wanted to do something with our fireplace. She told me she thought it would be nice to paint it orange. I skeptically agreed and glad I did! It turned out very nice!

Carolina Photo To Go LLC Orange is Clemson University's color and since I got my Master's there, I will applaud!!

Tim Bailey Ha! That's where my wife's degree is from and one of rhe reasons she picked it!

eztia I am happy the orange color turned out so well! You have a lot of fun, contemporary options for the room now, that you would not have had if the fireplace was a typical brick color.

orangecamera olldbobbi, I've been up to my eyeballs moving and unpacking and rearranging and re-rearranging for the past week or so....and only come up for air once in a while to look at houzz. When I saw this one, I just couldn't resist. :)

olldbobbi Moving is a nightmare!!! I told our Realtor last year that this was IT, and if I have to move again they're going to have to take me out feet first :)) I can sympathize, I really, really can.

Lawrence Adams Const. & Melindas Interior Designs The psychology of the color orange gives the feeling of good health. Like the color but the mantle needs to be heavier to balance out the scale of the brick and intensity of the
color.

Carolina Photo To Go LLC You just need photography of Tillman Hall to go above the fireplace. And, if you are not close, I just happen to have high def photography of it in my files! Love that your wife went to Clemson!

Tim Bailey We bricked the vents up. And I would love to have some hi def pics of Tilman!

Tim Bailey Oh, and I haved added a thicker solid oak mantle. I just haven't had a good time to take any pics of it.

centaurita Wow, what a difference! I usually hate when people paint natural wood or brick, but this has changed my mind a bit :) Glad your wife picked orange, it shows she has courage, and taste.

Robin Straub A darker stain on the hearth and maybe a but longer would balance off the mantle
