tomary We did not use any of the original cabinets. These cabinets are by KraftMade.
The recessed cans provide enough lighting for the island. We had considered pendants over the island, but in Louisiana the ceiling fan wins out.

tomary The backsplash is the Vallelunga Pietra Romana Noce in 3x6 tiles with a Sandstone colored grout. It is laid in a subway pattern. It matches perfectly the Cocoa glaze of the cabinets and is not busy so that it does not conflict with the granite.

Grace Reed One thing, I know the light door and trim are the norm but it drew my eye away from the kitchen. They could be painted to match or blend with the cabinets.
