Need help in colors for my teenage daughters bedroom
I have purple walls, with a very light grey duvet. What colors do I need for pillows and what color curtains to start with? Thanks

What's Inside Design Ltd. Good morning,
Since she's a teenager, my suggestion would be to go DRAMATIC! :)
I'd suggest yellow for your accent colour.

sam0705 I like lime green as an accent with purple. I also like patterns such as ikat or chevron for your pillows and/or drapes. If you don't want another color, you can't go wrong with adding some graphic black and white.

FrameSource Purple is always fun, but is also calming.

Leanne Lovie I would definitely incorporate a silvery lilac color into the pillows and decor. I would also look into a purple throw blanket for over the silver comforter. It would go as a stripe across the center of the blanket to break up the silver without taking it away. It looks like the room was designed around the colors in that painting. I'd do the room in mainly different shades of purple and silver, but I'd use a buttery yellow as an accent. It could be as subtle as a cream or a nice bright pale yellow. The trick is to use it sparingly because it's going to really pop against all of that purple and silver.

Here's a few bedrooms with similar color schemes.

Barbara Griffith Designs My choice accent color would be the lime green. Also it needs a headboard..maybe a piece (4 x 8 sheet cut to 4 x 6) of trellis from Lowe's, frame the edges, paint lime green and hang on the wall above the bed...high above the bed. Black & white geometric rug, lime & white on a chair with purple pillows. Black white & lime on pillows on bed. More fun larger art on the walls that she would like.

Carolina Photo To Go LLC A white or creme colored fabric headboard would look very nice. You could even make one if buying one is not in the budget. I am sure there are tutorials on the web or HGTV website. Love the purple! I think silver accents would also look very nice as someone else suggested. I hope she is in the voting process! Teenage daughters always want a say. I also would get a really nice frame and put a cork board in it so she can hang pictures of friends and a calendar for when assignments and other obligations occur.
Hope you post pictures of the finished product.

jjjjjjcul Thanks for everyone's help. I am trying to find the time to get shopping. I have purchased 5 bedspreads so far. Say, I'm crazy but I have to do this. I love the idea of adding yellow. Once I complete this project I will post pictures. But hang on, it will be a few more weeks.
