Master bedroom....too feminine?
Handsome hubby and myself have just put the finishing touches on our master suite. We made our own padded headboard and bed frame, painted our 27 year old furniture a dark charcoal and changed out the hardware and used silver as an accent on rod, lamps and picture frames. When I finished painting out a formerly wood finished dresser with white and charcoal paint and applied a decal, my hubby commented "it isn't getting too girlie in here is it"? This got me wondering......it this room too feminine? What additional accessories are needed to make it more gender neutral if it is?

1. the white dresser with the gorgeous queen anne legs. Very delicate.
2. The colour of the walls...is it a pastel?
3. The headboard. While its not overly feminine, it definitely is not something a bachelor would own.
The dark dresser/side tables scream masculine to me. I agree that you need a pop of a non-neutral colour somewhere. Maybe change the baby blue blanket for navy. Replace the round mirror with a rectangular frame with a chunky dark frame and only slightly less wide than the dresser (I think it'll match the dark chunky dressers better) and get some art or some book shelves for the walls.
Your side table lamps are super curvy (lovely set) but they kind of look like they belong more in a living room than a bedroom. Maybe wall mounted lamps that are more modern or "square."
$750 for EVERYTHING that you see(by repurposing what we had and doing all of the work ourselves) I figure I have a little bit of money leftover for embellishments :). Thanks again!
