TanCalGal I love the fireplace brick and mantel. Thank you for the photo! I like the touches of blue and white, too.

glillian I think it turned out pretty well. It needed something drastically.
Oldj22, is that Van Briggle on your mantle, I love the colors. So nice.

TanCalGal @gillian the soft glazed pieces on either end could be Van B or a similar pottery. Some of the other pieces look too aqua or red, but I guess they could be. R U a collector? I'm not an expert although I was an antique dealer for a while.

glillian No I just love Van Briggle. My friend also an antique dealer has a VB floor lamp of nudes in the mauve color...It takes my breath away. I have about 5 small pieces. Thanks for your thoughts earlier.

glillian Thank you Jayme, only took me 35 years to do it.... Better late then never, right? I love the white it is called snow frost and it looks like divinity candy to me. Thanks again.

scogie I'll bet in the far recesses of your mind you have a color idea but may be afraid to "go with it". JUST DO IT! Paint one side and see how you like it. Those little samples bottles of paint are very reasonable. And you can ALWAYS paint over it! Good luck and enjoy being brave!!!
