Difficult bedroom window
How would you treat this type of window - moon and sun shine into this bedroom making it difficult to control both light and heat!

ca2t Custom Plantation shutters with a separate extension pole to open and close them from the floor without having to use a step ladder. Could store extension pole under the bed when not in use or stand it upright behind the side panel drapery out of sight!

pookiemom So the shutters would have to be fixed and the pole used to just vary the slat positions?

ca2t I believe that's how it would work, but a professional installer could answer your questions better than I can. I find with my Plantation shutters all I ever want to do is adjust the slats and I hardly ever open them all the way up (except to have the windows cleaned). I think they would give you an answer for your light control issue. However, I have found that they are not a total "black out" solution since some light is still there so if you need total darkness for sleep issues, they would not work during daylight hours. They soften the light penetration but it is not total black out since some light is still visible around the edges of the slats and frames.
