Need help on how to re-vamp an out of date large ottoman.
My living room set came with a very large dark brown ottoman that needs...something, to it. Any ideas?

Danette Duprey Note, The ottoman is NOT a storage type.

Digital Imaging by Tina - Interior Designer You can always put a glass top on it and make a coffee table!

Barbara Griffith Designs Without seeing the room, I would say remove it from the area, if you can use it somewhere else, fine. It is just a tufted leather overload. If you have the space, add it onto the open end for more seating. Add 2 small glass (for lightness) tables to use as a place to set a glass.

Digital Imaging by Tina - Interior Designer Don't know what your tables measurement is, but here's a link to purchase individual glass tops.

sjkingston Since it is the right size to reach all the seating, consider slip covering it in a very (very) heavyweight fabric or like soft rug like a Kilm in colors that work with your decor or serve as a springboard to it. Don't rush the decision as it may take a while to find just the right piece to cover it with. If the fabric is rug like (easy to put feet on without pushing off the ottoman), it can just be a "box cover" that drips over and is tacked or stapled underneath to anchor.

There are probably inexpensive options to bring home and test from Ikea, Pier One or Cos Plus. One you home in on type of look and colors, you can check other options with confidence. Then add the tray to corral items like the remotes and add pillows in colors to pick up the ottoman colors.

Shannon Willey One simple solution is to buy a large tray for the top. I would suggest round to break-up the angles of the sectional and ottoman. Depending on the rest of your room, you could add a nice accent without a lot of trouble.

Creations Nadia Interior Design you could reupholster the top and make it flat:)) i would even choose different colour:))

Kendall Marcelle Design Assoc. Inc. Reupholster it in a fun fabric so it becomes a character piece, preferably a print and find a simple solid colored area rug to cmpliment it. OR simply find an over sized silver/chrome tray and accessorize it.

lindsay1971 The perfect fit of the ottoman to the sofa appeals to my OCD sensibilities. Break up the landscape of leather with a throw, pillows and accessories. The suggestions to change the ottoman fabric are great. A large framed mirror or ready made frame customized on the cheap with wallpaper inside can be converted to a tray with the addition of handles.

Kendall Marcelle Design Assoc. Inc. Find a fabric you love and go from there. Try Calico Corners or a fabric outlet .
