Need help for wall
I have a couch that is against a wall with a door. I cannot move the couch. It cannot be centered because of the rug. How can I make the wall look symmetrical with pictures and such. I did buy a clock but not sure where to put it

Barbara Griffith Designs Why is there a chair with it's back to the sofa? Could you add pictures of each wall in the room so we have a better idea of the space?

decoenthusiaste I think that wall is probably not the spot for the sofa in the first place. Can we see the entire space?

claudiann Could you move the end table and angle the couch? Symmetry is going to not work. With the door and the beam the space isn't symmetrical. I would get rid of the little end table, move the couch down a little, put your dark piece of art farther left towards the windows to balance the open door dark space. Then put a painting or a mirror between the door and the art. Your trim and art piece are dark and your tables are light. It might be more cohesive to go with one color of wood...I think I would get darker tables.

jenksbabe3 Pictures of the other walls is really necessary in order to truly help you with the room.....but just from what we can see...the basic concept of setting up a living room is not happening with this room. A room should have conversation groups with the chairs possibly on either side of the couch facing each other in a "u" shape, The artwork behind your couch is too low and way too heavy for your shabby chic look. The wall over the couch is tall so it needs a large picture or something tall to balance out that space, or a couple pieces of art.......but personally I think they should follow the shabby chic theme to not overpower your offwhite couch................ I think the tables are fine but it looks wierd to have a coffee table sitting to the side of the big arm chair.......with more pics I could suggest more.....
