Square or rectangular coffee table?
Can't decide between square or rectangular coffee table... One on picture is our old and it's square shape with glass. I'm looking for some industrial distressed look. Any ideas please share :)

Carolyn C I would consider rectangular, or two square that way everyone on either end of the sofa has access to it. Consider chrome with glass, clear glass or acrylic or a reclaimed wood and very clean lines. I blocked in a rectangular one for you to see . It should be about 18" from the sofa and chairs so you may need to move your chairs back a bit. Also consider having them face square on to the sofa with a small glass table in between. Centre it on the fireplace and the height should be about the same height as the sofa or chair cushions.

Carolyn C or two like the first one, and the black one on the bottom left below could be in the clear acrylic,

olldbobbi I agree with Carolyn, 2 squares or 1 rectangle. I like these for you: [houzz=Circle Squared Coffee Table]

Terri Williams I think a rectangular table would be best.

nononanna Rectangular and put something eween the two smaller chairs so they don't have to reach for the coffee table. If you find a coffee table with a shelf it's really useful.

Genevieve Looking at your Tamara De Lempika picture Art Deco I would choose something like this to compliment it.

Peter Jakobsen Thank you all for comments :)
Genevieve, second table was always on my list.
Also thought about two smaller square tables....
Our living room is open to kitchen and connected by big arch opening to dining room. Set in dining is from 1800s :) it's Brazilian mahogany with hand tooled leather chairs.
Question is should I look for coffee table in dark browns or should I brake with a different wood color. I think combination of wood and stainless steel would be ok. In living room there is also a media cabinet which totally made from salvaged elm wood. Here are some pictures, first is a different angle on other wall in living room, second is view from living on dining area, rest are some coffee tables from my list. Thank you all for ideas and future comments.
