Moving into new apartment
Is there any way to make a cookie-cutter living room more interesting?

Calvin Simons Well, for this small apartment i think one bathroom is enough. And the size of the kitchen is kinda small.
So if you demolish the bathroom by the kitchen you have a nice size kitchen where you can put a dining table or an bar/island for sitting.
And n the left side of the apartment you can demolish the closet and make it a big bathroom. (Bath, Shower, Toilet, 2 sinks) And than still you have enough room for clothes storage if you buy a closet. I hope this helped you.

kit2650 Thanks for your ideas, Calvin.....but in NYC, if I were to eliminate the second bathroom and the only big closet in the apartment, the apartment would decrease in value by about half! The closet by that second bathroom is going to be used for a washer/dryer and there is NO closet in the second bedroom! As for the master bathroom, the condo board would NEVER approve putting what they call "wet over dry." That means I could not add to the bathroom over an area that is not bathroom in the floor below me. The kitchen is actually quite a good size for a city apartment. My big problem in decorating is that small, narrow living room!

Calvin Simons Ok, now i see it on a picture it is a nice size kitchen.
And for the livingroom you should do light but still warm colors.
A corner couch in a grey color and a glass table in the middle of it do a lot. And for the tv a not to deep stand. Maybe this one is something...

A big rug in the middle of the couch and under the glass table is also nice. And some colorfull pillows on the couch are also cool to look at!
I dont know to say more about the living room.
