Color to brighten up room
My living room/dining room is so dark due to the dark purple walls, the corner brick wall and our dark furniture. If I could do it again, I would not choose such dark wood furniture, but we are stuck with it now.

I'm looking for suggestions for what color to paint the room that will brighten it up but not clash with the dark red brick wall. Thank you!

Barbara Griffith Designs It looks rather blue/green/gray...this tone may look good on the walls.

BeyondFrames Or you could also paint the brick wall if you truly dislike it . It would be much easier then to pick the right color for the walls to brighten up the room.

Having the walls painted and keeping the brick it as it is it might not be so bad though.

Engrav's Decorating I love the color behind your sofa. I would leave the wall behind the soft the color it is and find a rich, rich, neutral to paint the other walls.
