Exterior color ideas
1960 brick and aluminum siding. Love the grey with white trim and red door. Afraid the asymmetry of the house will not work. Looking for ideas. White on white? The roof is black.

lefty47 HI -- I think the white is too white against the brick . If you can paint the siding maybe a warmer color to cut down on the contrast. Benjamin Moore " Ranchwood " would look good with the brick. Your house is really attractive in it's winter setting .

juliapoepping What do you think about painting the brick white, too?

Dytecture Painted white bricks would provide a more natural transition between the 2 siding materials.

bumbles12 Remember painting of bricks is something to really think about, if you change your mind it would be a huge job to clean it off. I think your home looks very attractive but if you don't like it why not change the colour of the metal to the brick colour? I definitely wouldn't change the brick colour.

Hrivnak Associates, Ltd. If funds allow, work on the geometries. Paint only goes so far. Home has great potential for a facelift.

juliapoepping Thank you for the advice. I really like the look of the house in St. Louis Park - would love to go for shutters and the cottage look, but the windows are not symmetrical and I'm afraid it would look odd. I would love to do a facelift, but not sure what it would take. Any ideas on what a design and estimate would cost (without a commitment to actually do the work) so I could figure that out? Who generally does this type of work, an architect? Silly questions, I know.
