What color should I paint my shutters and front door?
We have a 1960 brick ranch home. I'd like to paint the shutters and front door (possibly even the gutters) a fresh color to make our house pop a bit more. I love the idea of a moss green color, but our neighbor two houses down has already done that. Any other ideas?

JP Warren Interiors Would you also consider changing the white?

gatsbygirl8 You mean the gutters and window frames? Yes, I'd be open to that.

cypress I think your shutters and front door would look great painted black. You might also want to install larger shutters.

misecretary Maybe remove the shutters completely?

DIAspoton a rich charcoal or black on the trim and gutters.blue slate over the concrete stoop and walk.if you commission a unique, artistic iron rail for your stoop and walk it would have a huge impact.
a substantial window box would add charm. get one deep enough to set pots in rather than plant to make it easy to change wiht the seasons.. keep loose moss over the pots so they look planted.

CMR Interiors & Design Consultations Inc. I agree with the above : charcoal black. Nothing else really looks contrasting to red brick. Also paint the front door a glossy black. And put in a new mailbox and new sconces. I'd take off the address plaque and just put the numbers on the mail box. Less fuss in one area or put the numbers over the garage. Here is a sconce: http://www.hinkleylighting.com/products/product-detail.aspx?pid=4638&cid=23

handymam Dark green on the shutters and a kelly green on the front door is what I have, and we get compliments all the time.

What's Inside Design Ltd. Good morning,
I'm going to agree with those who are suggesting black, but I'd like to soften that idea a little.
How about a charcoal grey that nods slightly towards blue? I think that would be less dramatic and would help tie in your shingles.

AMN Another one for charcoal. I prefer to add pops of color with plantings and beautiful containers/urns, etc.

I like these colors on this brick home:
