sfigu16

I got this amazing brown chocolate sectional but i am not sure how to decorate my living room, what accent pillows and curtains to use. Oh, and a rug! I was thinking about having purple accents! I need ideas! Thanks everyone!

I would consider a nice blue with your chocolate brown..And you really do not have to stick to one shade of blue..introduce a few blue tones. I have attached a few images to show you how wonderful a fresh blue would brighten this space..

Were u also repainting? If so, that will play into what type of rug/drapery you choose. I didn't see you mention repainting.

No repainting, The walls are an off white color, it looks nice plus too much work to paint! haha but i LOVE the blue!

I would do peacock blue, velvet pillows- not purple. I think purple is too dark and severe and drabby

Great sectional. I would suggest something like this print pillow from West Elm in the pale plum color (Raisin). Also take a look at adding texture and drama with a Mongolian lamb pillow in white.

Thank you sfigu16, I understand now that you love colour! Since you absolutely love the combined peacock colours I posted , my advise for you is to look closely at these beautiful natural colour combinations..Find a feather!
I would also like you to keep in mind you need to tie all of this together..The easiest way is in your accesories..
Art work is one of the easiest ways to accomplish this..
I attached a few moe examples of art work ideas..
Keep your curtains simple and breezy..For example maybe faux linen panels would be nice..
Not sure if you are a fan of horses or roses however, you can see how the colours all tie together..

Keep it simple..make sure you go with a panel that works with the paint..Light beige or cream can have undertones that could simply clash with your paint colour..If you know the correct colour of your paint, take the chip with you when you look for your curtain panels..
Curtain panels also have a style so when you are looking keep it less formal..more on the casual side of style..Good Luck..
it would be nice to see the end result if you care to share a few pictures when you are finished decorating..

Your sofa is a presence in the room. I like your idea of the purple accents…in smaller doses. I think something like this wall art would look great in your room and give you something to remind you of some great colors you could use.
