Window treatment ideas for room of windows??
I have a small tv room with 3 walls of windows and need some advice about window treatments (style, colors, brands). The room is painted BM Wythe Blue and the sofa will be brown/taupe (chaise sectional). Room doesn't get a ton of light so keeping out sun isn't priority - priority is privacy. Attached are pics of room - any help would be great!

Padma Iyer What a beautiful blue. Do you like the idea of sheers? I am talking ones that have a print on them. There are some very sweet ones from West Elm. You could hang them right below the crown molding and let them touch the floor. You may consider using a rod that projects a few inches extra from the wall so that there is a gap for the furnace/ac.

Engrav's Decorating For privacy and light you might want to consider the top/down bottom up controls. Right now this a free upgrade from Graber and Comfortex on their cellular blinds. You can bring the blinds down from the top so you have privacy where it counts and light coming in through the top. With three walls of windows and the room being small, these blinds will not shrink your room. Get them in white and blend them with your painted woodwork and they practically disappear.

Carolyn Albert-Kincl Design I'd select brown 2" wood blinds to pick up the color of the sofa. Or you can match the white trim. I like wood blinds for the flexibility they give you in light and privacy control.

blindsdirectcanada Shutters with a split tilt bar would be a great option for the windows. I would stay away from any other wood or fauxwood type blinds they can get very heavy on such large windows.

Carolyn Albert-Kincl Design Wood blinds are only heavy if you lift them frequently. A lot of people use the tilt mechanism and that's all.

joanbllt Try the top down/bottom up cellular blinds in the same color family as the woodwork. They can serve for privacy while admitting light. The second benefit (noting the heater below) is that they will insulate the windows from extremes of cold and heat.

decoenthusiaste Top dow/bottom up in any type would be my choice.

anitantim What color is the paint? We have a darker Portland Blue accolade paint and I find that too strong and looking for a lighter shade.

Thomas Wakeman what about plantation shutters that only go half way or 2/3 up the windows, this creates a nice private feel, without blocking out any light from the upper half of the windows

cmcole1121 Thanks everyone. I like the idea of top down/bottom up style. Is it possible to get those shades that would fit whole window or would they need to be per section?

Also What about roman shades? Would those work?

@anitantim the color is Wythe Blue from Benjamin Moore. It really is pretty - blue/green.

Engrav's Decorating Most cellular blinds will go as wide as 120 inches so you can check to see if that would work for you.
They can get heavy that wide in which case the company might require you to have what they call a continuous cord.

You can also get three shades on one headrail which works well too.

Julie Thome Draperies, Inc. Christine, roman shades would work, either fabric or woven shades. You could do one woven for the entire width of the window and a fabric one as well, or 3 fabric ones side by side, all outside mount.

cmcole1121 I'm thinking I need to do a shade that is somewhat sheer so as not to shrink the room. I've attached an updated pic of room with new sofa to see if anyone has ideas about colors/styles.
Does anyone have experience with Hunter Douglas silhouette shades? I think something like that would work well - thoughts? Ps the room size is small (133 in x 113). Also any ideas about rugs?

Julie Thome Draperies, Inc. I've recently installed Hunter Douglas sheer duette shades...very pretty. The fabric in the shade was HD D8, I think if you can navigate their site you can see the fabrics available. D8 is the sheerest fabric they do in the Duette.
