Steve Throw some funky picture frame looking trim around that mirror, paint those vanity doors, ditch the curtain, and clear off those countertops (including the candles)!
Jaya Kopalle I would clear everything. start with painting the bathroom in some refreshing color. Up lifting color, frame the mirror ,(or chance it to a smaller framed mirror ,preferably Oval or round) for the sink part only. That will free the wall for some glass shelves for storage. You can place some natural material baskets with finger tip towels , bud vases, small tea candles, etc).
Change the lighting above the sink. You can keep the cabinets the same as the paint on the wall will freshen things up. Get a coordinating color shower curtain. I hang my shower curtain all the way to the ceiling . (you can get the extra long ones at Restoration hardware , or make your own.)
I don't know your budget, if you can change the faucet to a bigger bolder one in satin nickel.
Hope this helps.:-)
diyjames Jody, I don't know your budget, but consider new hardware and a recessed medicine cabinet in front and on the left wall. I would remove the section of the shelf above the toilet. The other suggestions above are good too.
