Need window treatment idea
Love my new room, but if the sun is shining brightly then entertaining in the morning and afternoon is a problem. What should I do?

Carolina Photo To Go LLC Roman shades could be left up or put down when needed. If you don't do custom, look at JCPenney.com.

Gabberts Design Studio I love the idea of roman shades, they will look very tailored in your room. They will allow the light to be let in when you want to, but closed when entertaining. Beautiful room!

Audra's Draperies Solar shades are great for the light control. If you would like to add more a decorative touch, I would suggest the Natural Woven Shades.

Fenstermann LLC-Newport Beach I love the windows! Its too bad you need anything on them at all.

If you need something for privacy and light control, I would suggest our top-down/bottom-up shades. They are very neat, and compact. They also are only 3/4" in depth, so they will pass the handle on your door. No headrail, stringless up to 60", and over 450 different fabrics available.

I work with people on Houzz from all over the country, and can get you samples/pricing.

Maria Billingsley of J Hettinger Interiors I did this, a combination of stationary panels and functional roman shades..

JMittman Designs I see roman shades, inside mounted, blackout lined for sure if you have all that light coming in, in a pretty print.

Loot Design House I would do a grassweave roman (top down bottom up if you need any privacy) and have them lined. If you are not interested in custom my suggestion would be Blind Chalet. They make them up to 1/8" and are well priced. Otherwise contact a local designer! Doing then in a light natural color with some texture would soften the room. Below is an example we did.

Another idea would be as others have said roman, inside mount, lined in a soft natural linen and edge them with a tone on tone Greek key or fret tape- super fun and attention to detail. Have fun!

blindsdirectcanada A Cellular shade with a top down bottom up is a great solution for this space . Its really clean and modern looking and you can always add drapery panels or a valance if you wanted to afterwards.

Jones Sales Team woven shades would be beautiful! they will filter the light. Though more expensive, plantation shutters are great.

hoovermcteagle if you prefer no treatments, a glass film can reduce glare and provide UV protection.

normpo You know what I did in my living room? I love the light for my plants so I got blinds, not minni blinds but the wide two and a half inch blinds and hung them half way in the window where the top and bottom window meet. I love the look of the wider blinds, they're kind of contempory looking like those big new wide shutters I see now. If I want privacy I just shut the blinds and no one can see in the bottom window but when I'm standing I can still see out the top part of the window. Of course in the top part of my windows I've hung antique stained glass windows I've collected. They look beautiful during the day and at night, when the inside lights are on they seem to light up when you see them from the outside. Then, if you like plants, you could get some big pots with plants in them and hang them in front of the top part of the windows. If you think it's too bright you could always hang awnings on the outside, retractable ones when that sun is just too bright? I just love the sun and would love the brightness. It's a nice room though, I hope you find the perfect look for it!
