Raw wood paneling
My kitchen/dining room is a rustic farmhouse style. The dining room has raw wood paneling from the floor to the chair rail. It was here when we purchased the house and I like it, but it's stained and discolored in parts. The texture is not smooth and I have no idea how to clean it. Can anyone offer suggestions?

eagledzines Murphy's oil soap is a good product to clean wood. Don't use anything with ammonia in it. If there is tannin in he wood it will turn it black.

About Time Design If you try to clean it, you don't want to use anything that can leave behind little pieces of paper or lint. I would try an old washcloth that is not white. Is it possable for you to sand it? I know what you are talking about, I had that too, but I had issues with it because it was like a magnet for what ever was blowing through. You could try sanding it. If you do, wet it down with a cloth so the grain will stand up. That way it will sand smooth and you can then apply a coat of sealer or paint.
