Living room-Revision 3
Some you may remember my last week’s posting and dilemma when I tried to recreate one of the rooms found on Houzz.Me and my husband had some doubts and felt that is not what we wanted. So we just started all over . I also wanted to decorate with what I already have so we brought this beautiful oriental rug from the spare room and we love it. Chartreuse fabric chair was replaced with dark gray fabric (there is not many other colors to choose from except white leather).I am just looking for ideas to spruce up this room for an eclectic-contemporary look. There are many sharp corners so I want to soften it up a little bit and add some décor items . I can put this red painting (now is just photoshoped) but in reality is a bit smaller that this so I am not sure if the size is right.

Any other suggestions?
Thanks

sondramartina Rug is deep pink-red colour but not as red as shown in first pic. Sofa is deep gray.

sondramartina I think my post got lost. So I need suggestions how to add some roundness.

Interiors International, Inc. Oval coffee table ASAP! 2 round small swivel club chairs would look better than the single square one.

pitbulls Would you consider 2 small matching glass tables instead of the present coffe table?

groveraxle I thought you were on the right track before. This room is not nearly as interesting. Sorry. I loved your green chair (no matter what your mother said).

sondramartina @Groveraxle,sorry :))I've got so tired of everything especially when i saw that new rug next dayI .it had some very green undertone that did not go with green chair. I felt so drained and exosted i decided to do just minor purchase. I have 30 days to decide about gray chair but i am not going to try too hard.

sondramartina I think I had decorating breakdown

the essentials inside Hi all!

sondramartina - Decorating breakdown - you probably have some company there. Maybe Houzz should add a recovery program to the site. ;)

Joking aside, I'm sorry to hear you had a tough time. I know it can be very stressful. The designers here on Houzz are so talented & make it look so easy. But, nope, it is definitely not.

I love your couch & I love the red painting. I agree w/Interiors International about the oval coffee table and swivel club chairs.

Any chance you could post a picture of the view from the couch?

sparksue Totally agreed with Interiors International - Oval Coffee Table (Most Important) and Swivel Club Chairs to add some roundness and soften in your area.

groveraxle Oh, sondramartina. I'm so sorry you burned out. It's so hard to tell from pictures, and I know sometimes things you thought would be perfect together just don't go. The revision is lovely and restful and I suspect that's what you need right now. Decorating breakdown: it happens.

sparksue Agreed, Sondramartina, i think you should really take a break from this. And as suggested, it will be nice to change the rectangle coffee table to a Oval Coffee Table to soften the sharpness in your area.

the essentials inside Can you slide the couch in (away from the corner and windows) toward the tv and to the right (your right if you are sitting on the couch)?

deemenendez Agreed on center table; needs changing. Maybe an ottoman-styled table with color and also adding pillows to the couch can help. Moving couch away from wall and closer to the tv will cozy room some. Good luck.

sondramartina Yes i did but i think it will not be easy unless i sell it really cheap.

the essentials inside Maybe upload photos into a project here on Houzz - label "for sale", the price, your area & give an email address (make a special email for that only)? Couldn't hurt.
