Kitchen counters and backsplash dilemma
So we have dark stressed maple hardwood floors with dark espresso cabinets. We have a lot of light so im not worried about how dark it will look. Anyway we choose out these granite counter tops. I really like them since they have a lot of variation to them. Dark and light brown with some orange and pink undertones. The backsplash is a light marble that pulls out pinks and oranges from the granite. They work well together. Im concerned about how they will work with the cabinets? Too much? Thanks.
PS: Sorry i dont have a picture of the cabinets or the floors. They're both a rich dark brown.

Christine I love the marble you chose but just not for what you described. That has A LOT OF PINK. With such dark colors in the floors and cabinets I would suggest a calmer stone that totally compliments the espresso (a warmer gold stone) without so much movement in it and stay lighter. Even if you have a lot of natural light I just think it will highlight everything and not make the space feel restful. What color are your walls and other accents? I put some suggestion up in the photos to show what I mean. Have fun.

herrogjun Christine: Thank you for your suggestions!! I don't have any wall colors yet. Just primer on the walls. Im thinking of going with some sort of light brown? I havent given it much thought since im basically starting with a blank slate! We recently bought the home and are in the process of remodeling it. We currently have no kitchen since and we're living I'm a construction zone. Two more week!!

LM Designers I agree with Christine, beautiful marble but to much with the granite. I would prefer to see a natural travertine stone so your counter top and backsplash are not competing with each other.

pitbulls I love the granite and expresso cabinets. I'd pick neutral small glass tiles so the granite can be center stage.

herrogjun I originally had chosen a travertine tile as the backsplash but i felt like they washed out the counter tops. But i just remembered we didn't spray the tile with water when we set it against the counter tops like we did with the marble backsplash. I know it will make a difference since thats how it will end up looking once they seal them so i think im going to have to make another quick trip back . . . . Thanks everyone!
