Living room makeover
I recently bought a fully furbished apartment and I decided I couldn't live at all with the way the living room looked like. I wasn't planning any major changes or investments, so I kept the parquet floor, the bookcase and the couch and tried to build around them. This is what it looks like at this point, compared to what it was before (the coloured flowery wallpaper was what I disliked most). Since it's still a work in progress, any ideas would be welcome!

Oakwood Veneer What an incredible transformation. For a moment I thought the flowery was the after picture:)

ioanasanda Thank you so much for your comment, it's encouraging to have positive feedback within this very special community, which, by the way, was my only source of inspiration. I thought attaching the before picture last could be deceiving, but it seemed too depressing to be shown first.

Oakwood Veneer No reason to think depressing. I am inspired when I come home after being on Houzz. All day I look at great work and when I go into the warehouse, I see some of the finest wood veneers.

Paradise Restored Landscaping & Exterior Design These B&A's are important and one like this shows without major investment, tweaking what you have, can change the entire feel of the room! Much lighter now - inviting - enjoy your new facelift!

wvspinner So lovely! It now looks like a sanctuary after a day at work. Good eye!

ioanasanda Thank you so much, it's become indeed a cozy place to look forward to. The light and colours are much livelier than in the picture, while keeping an overall soft, neutral feel, so for me now it really is a living room.
