Need Help trying to figure out how to arrange new TV.
We are trying to upgrade to either 55" or 60" TV and talking about putting it over the mantle. As you see in the pic we have used painters tape to measure the size of both. I'm not sure though if we mount it there because of the two close windows on either side how to store the media boxes. Eg: Fios Box, DVD, Xbox, and Wii. I also wanted to get a sound bar.

jeeprunner46 I also can't stand the brass part of the fireplace. Any ideas of what to do with that too.

Donna Colvin-Smith It will look so much better once you have the TV over the fireplace, you will no longer have two focal points competing side by side! If this was my fireplace, I would do built ins around the entire fireplace, all the way to the ceiling, then you would have a place for all your TV gear, and the TV, maybe even have cabinet doors over the TV to hide it? I would google for ideas...maybe you should spray paint out the brass to a rubbed oil bronze, I think that they have a high heat spray paint for this application. It looks like your room needs a bit of color, rugs, throw pillows and some bigger art pieces on the walls? This is just what I see! Good luck!

Welcome Home designs Yes... The windows will make it tricky to hide all the TV accessories.
Here is a photo that shows an option for you- a built in that has depth for hiding/storing.
My other suggestion is to see if there's another wall for the TV.
Good luck!

jeeprunner46 Thanks so much for the great ideas!

Never realized just a TV could have us re-doing the whole living room for the better. We love all the new and modern pics with all white trim And would love to paint the trim white but haven't as our home was built in 1940 and we wanted to keep the original wood.

Thank goodness my husband is handy and some friends too.
