Shelton Interiors The clock is fabulous but too small for the space. Love the blue with the blue vase.
My suggestion would be something much larger (wider than the insert) and popping it off a darker paint color. If blue works in your room, paint the FP wall blue and place a black and white piece of art on it.
For accessories on the mantel, go large! You should always place an uneven number of items and try to reach visual balance without the boring symmetry. You got a good start, but I'd go for larger scale items left and right only, nothing in the center.
Interiors International, Inc. The clock is to small. I would paint the fireplace wall a darker color to tie it in with the stone and mantel. It will create a cohesive unit.
decoenthusiaste Lower the clock to about 5" above the mantel. Remove everything else and find two large items to flank the clock that will stand at least as tall as 3 & 9 o'clock. Try more of the blue color, maybe in ceramics or glass.
jenpa8 Everything is too small, You n eed something tall to be interesting. The clock is cool, that's just not the right place for it. I agree with the picture from Shelton Interiors, large art, couple of properly sized vases. One other option that is dramatic and inexpensive: Large mirror with still on the larger size clear glass vase with big greens.
Welcome Home designs I like your clock but do agree it's on the small side. You can still use it but you have to accessorize the mantel so it works. Check out the attached photo for ideas.
Coralee Angell I really like the clock and I would leave it there. I like the idea of painting the wall above the fireplace a few shades darker to make it stand out, but mostly I suggest adding a couple smaller pieces or art on each side of the clock to use up more space and then a leafy plant on the mantle that hangs down a bit.

Hope this helps!

Your other option is something larger - art or mirror
Good luck!
