Now let's move on to this den. Again the floors will stay !! I want to open it
Up and take in formal living room we will never use and make one room. I also want suggestions for fireplace and shelf beside . Of course I will be stripping wallpaper and painting.

a floor plan (even a hand sketch) with some dimensions on it would be fabulous!! also, remember any suggestions here do not consider where the structural elements (columns, beams inside the walls) in your house are located. i would recommend a local architect come out to the house before you get too far with your planning!

If I knocked the wall out it would make the room 28x42 the rooms are side by side. It is a load bearing wall so I know I will have to have something there. I've tried drawing it out but I can't seem to get exactly what I want.

I would remove carpet and go with the parquet in the whole room
