Ideas for over the front door

Our entryway has these beautiful doors but, I just can't figure out what to put over it. There is a thin shelf- as you can see in the photo- about 6 inches wide. The walls are a sand color and the rest of the room is decorated in a beach theme, ie: light blues and greens. Any ideas?

joannpb Visually, you really don't need anything up there, but if you want to decorate that space, go with something larger, maybe something like a small oriental runner on the wall, a painting, or a decorative fan. The line of little things just looks lost.

apple_pie_order Nothing can compete with the beauty of those fabulous doors. To improve the overall look, replace the out of fashion palm door mat with a rug in your beachy colors or a simple brown or tan mat the size of the one you have.

The seashell display currently over the doors could go in the open aquarium shelves. The duck doesn't go well with the seashells, and could go elsewhere in the house.
