Kitchen granite
I am building a new house and want to use typhoon bordeaux on the kitchen island. What granite could I use on the perimeter that would complement it? The cabinets are cream with a umber glaze.

Granite Grannies Granite with a pattern as varied as Typhoon Bordeaux can be very hard to match up. May I ask why you aren't doing it around the whole kitchen? You could do a leathered (aka matte finish) absolute black granite. That way, you have the black without the messy fingerprints of a standard polish. I think most granite that is not a solid color would be very difficult to match up. A costa esmerelda might work, depending on what your particular Typhoon Bordeaux looks like: Costa Esmerelda Granite

A leathered antique brown granite might be another option if you didn't want a solid black: Leathered Antique Brown Granite

Depending on how white your Typhoon Bordeaux is, a river valley might go as well: River Valley Granite

Good Luck!

P.S. Typhoon Bordeaux looks absolutely drop dead gorgeous on cream cabs with glazing. Excellent choice.
