Help with Dining Room Chandelier
kristinbenson21
February 8, 2013 in Design Dilemma
I'm in the process of building a house and just found out that the chandelier we chose for the dining room is now on backorder. We don't have any furniture yet, so it's kind of hard planning w/o know exactly what the room is going to look like. I've attached a mock-up of the (2) wall sconces and a mirror that we were hoping of installing in the middle. The room size is 12 ft 9 3/4 in long x 9 ft wide. Our ceilings are 9' tall.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated! Also to note, we're trying to keep the chandelier under $500...and no single-drum shades as we already have that going on in the kitchen. Thx!

What was your original choice for the chandelier?

We originally chose the Savoy House Forum Gold Dust 6-Light Chandelier (image #1). We found a light at a local retailer - Cyan Lighting Provence 6-Light Chandelier (image #2) and think this may be one of the front-runners since timing is of essence. Honest opinions are welcome!!

I was looking for a chandelier for another project and came upon the "Bellora" from Pottery Barn -- I immediately fell in love with it -- it's updated traditional with great crystals. The price is right, too, at just over $300. Here's the link:

It may be too small for your room, but I would suggest something similar -- good luck!
