Paint colors and finishes
Hi there,

Can someone please advise me on paint colors. Should my trim be the same color as the ceiling? This is what I just purchased:

Wall color- behr, wheatbread, eggshell

Trim color- behr, decorator white, semi gloss

Ceiling color- behr, decorator white, eggshell

Is this a good choice? When I ask at Home Depot they just say "it's whatever you want". However, I'm the farthest thing from an interior designer so I want advice on what is recommended. Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Thank you so much!!

judyg That will be just fine. You chose the correct finishes and didn't buy nasty "ceiling" paint which always looks like skimmed milk. :>)

Mia Mirelez Thank you so much! Are you familiar with the colors I chose? Do you like those colors?

judyg I am not familiar with wheatbread. But it sounds neutral with yummy warm tones. I think if you like it, go with it. Let me see if I can find a houzz picture that makes me think of wheatbread and see if it close to your color.

judyg Anything like this? This is a beautiful room,,,white woodwork, white ceiling. And it looks so great with the blue and wicker.

carolannr Sounds fine - right finishes for right areas. I think you will really like the subtle difference between the wall color and trim.

G3 Studios Decorative Painting I like it when the ceiling is the same color as the trim. It's a subtle thing but ties a room together nicely. Those employees will just say anything to make you happy so I don't even ask anymore:)

Carolyn Albert-Kincl Design Perhaps you're a better decorator than you thought because your colors sound quite nice even tho I, too, do not know exactly what wheatbread paint looks like. Maybe it looks like this. This website has over one million photos of homes that you can browse to get more paint ideas if you need help with other rooms. Or we're happy to help you here on "Design Dilemma"!

Mia Mirelez I'm back with another paint question... In the kitchen, do I paint the cabinets the sam color as trim? And what finish should they be? Our trim will be behr decorator white through out. Thank you everyone!

carolannr I would paint them both in semi-gloss.

Mia Mirelez Here is the finished product, for the master bedroom anyway. This is Behr - wheat bread on the walls and Behr - decorator white on the trim
