Modern renovation and second story addition ("pop-top") to a home in Denver, Colorado
We completely opened up the existing first floor, leaving only the original 1920's brick walls, and added a large second story to the home. The formerly cramped interior spaces now have a light, open flow with minimal modern detailing, as well as the much-needed space for a growing family. The overall form (and the windows and overhangs) were carefully designed to maximize light, ventilation and shading. The home also features a variety of sustainable finish choices inside: bamboo, cork, and Marmoleum flooring.
