I am looking for a very natural looking quartz substitute for carrara marble.
I do not care for the Silestone options. I see that Caesarstone is coming out with Misty Carrina and London Grey. If you have an thoughts any options please let me know

Imperial Kitchens and Baths, Inc. Have you looked at Cambria?

tradingnyc I have been looking for a showroom that has Cambria display. The small samples are too difficult for me to judge. Were you thinking Cambria Tourquay? I have seen in online but not in person. Have you worked with it or used it?

I came across this link when I was looking for myself. I ultimately came to the conclusion that nothing really looks authentic so I did plain white for the counters and marble for the backsplash.

tradingnyc Yeah - I understand. I think I am heading that direction as well. Ceasarstone has two new products hitting the market this March - Frosty Carrina and London Fog. They are suppose to fill this void. I have been desperately looking for showrooms that have or will have a display. This is starting to feel futile. Thanks for you tips Sam

Lori_Tartaglia Volpatti Have you looked at Quartzite? It is natural, but more durable than Carrara... and has a similar look to marble (if you find the right piece)://www.houzz.com/photos/2316646/Classicly-Modern-Kitchen-contemporary-kitchen-philadelphia,

sam0705 Good idea to see it in a large scale in person. I ordered the silestone Lyra based on the sample and thankfully found a photo of it in a real life kitchen and it looked like Formica. Changed it before it was too late.

Imperial Kitchens and Baths, Inc. We have Cambria on display, if you are in the Chicago area. You can always call the company and request a 12x12 sample be sent to your home.

tradingnyc Do you have a display of the Torquay? A 12x12 sample is not going to do it for me. I saw a 12x12 sample of Silestone Lyra and it looked great but when I saw the showroom display it looked so unrealistic. I won't commit unless I can see a good size display

Imperial Kitchens and Baths, Inc. Not of that color, no. Call Cambria and ask them which dealer in your area has Torquay on display, they should know. Good luck. (Or you can find someone who has multiple 12x12 samples that can be placed side by side.)

NancyJInteriors Thinking of natural stone, man made product, alway variations. Man made Silestone, etc., is a take
off of the old cultured stone and it is what it is.

tradingnyc Does anyone have opinions on Quartzite?
NancyJInteriors If any one is concerned about chemicals, even with fabricated hard finishes, if a knife cuts into
some of these product, there may or may not be a chemical effect. Quartzite warns about this on line.
I look at the cost of the man made products in comparsion to natural stone and think the real stone
is a value.

tradingnyc I thought Quartzite was a natural stone - no?
sam0705 It is. There have been some other threads on quartzite you might find if you search discussions.

NancyJInteriors Take a look at Quartzite Countertops on line, its a composite of quarts and sand. The hardness of the finish is fabricated in the firing of the product. There is no reference to quartzite being a "stone".
