Help! Will we have enough room around kitchen island?
Our kitchen is 13'9" wide by 32' long - consider it a wide galley kitchen with gas rangetop & sink on exterior wall and the refrigerator & ovens n opposite wall. We'd like an island at least 3'x9'5". We have 78" to play with if the island (including counter) is 3'. With the fridge/ovens side as the main walk thru, should I break up the 78" with 36" on range/sink side (where I will be) and 42" on the fridge/oven side? Or do something entirely different?

jaymallin Where's the dishwasher and oven doors? We just did a kitchen and had 46" of walkway on all sides of the island so we could walk around the whole thing even with the oven ad DW open.... Bring in a photo or two...
