Suggestions on how to re-upholster this rocking chair?

Hi there! I am going to re-upholster this chair for my son's nursery. Any suggestions or ideas on which way to go? I was thinking grey/slate linen, possible tufting and nail head trim on the back. Any suggestions?
(sorry for bad pictures)

Thanks!

Kristyn

How about a men's wear herringbone, or even houndstooth fabric? You'll want something comfy as you will probably be spending some time in it, also something easy clean or that will at least hide little "spit-ups".
I would avoid linen as it will wrinkle easily and show all kinds of stains.

IF there are not too many patterns already, I like the houndstooth idea; be careful to not go with too many colors or patterns in the room. I personally would avoid nail head trim because I like the cleaner look. Stay with cotton, ultrasuede, or a "sunbrella" type of fabric (indoor/outdoor) that would clean up great. If you do have a lot of color in the room, pick out a little darker color of one of those colors.

Striped denim like a conductor's cap? Maybe bandana cording or red cording? Coordinating pillows or valances?
