Red washer and dryer what paint color goes with that?
We just purchased a red washer and dryer, now we can't decide what color to paint the room! We don't want anymore gray we have gray everywhere (bedroom, family room, dining room, entryway) but were stuck....my hubby wants a Tiffany blue, I think that is going to look tacky....help!

AMN My first thought was a very light, soft blue. Like Tiffany but way lighter.

Believe it or not, there are a number of laundry room pics on Houzz with red washer/dryers.

Another option would be a fresh, creamy buttermilk color.

ETA - Yes. I forgot to mention the floor. That will make a difference, as is demonstrated in the photo above. This room looks ok, but it would look a lot better if the floors weren't so orangey. The light blue would look best with either a fresh cream colored tile floor or a cool, dark wood floor.

courtneyd17 Well, what color is your floor? Tiffany blue could look pretty if done right.:

A rich taupe or tan would look good with red. Or keep it simple and go with cream.

Danielle Lyn We looked at all the houzz pictures we could find with red appliances, most of the colors are gray or warm.....our floors are a light tanish ceramic tile. I trying to find a paint color that is close to tiffany blue now..but I agree it should be washed out a little!

Dytecture There are just a handful of photos with red washer / dryer. Here is an example with more green tones on the walls.

handymam I would go for a creamy color too because of the floors. I don't think the blue goes with either the red or the floors. Have you thought about some small mosaic glass tiles that pick up the red behind the washer and dryer, like dytectures posted. there are many choices that could tie the appliances and the floor and paint color all together.

wmpj Cream, tan, or a grayish turquoise would look good.

Danielle Lyn We are going mosaic we where trying to mail down the color before we order the tiles and I know their are a lot of pictures on houzz but they didn't have much variation from what I mentioned, that's why I posted the question!

LizaJane How about a really fabulous wallpaper? Don't know what the rest of your house looks like but I am assuming it is fairly contemporary? I like the idea of black/white and red!

trebinje Who doesn't love Tiffany blue? But a little bit goes a long way, IMO. Maybe compromise with your husband - a Tiffany blue door and complimentary light blue-grey walls with your red appliances.

This door is not Tiffany blue, but you get the idea.

Danielle Lyn I think we are going to go with the Tiffany blue just maybe add a little more white to the paint for it to be a little more washed out.....

eztia Here are a few more ideas.
The first photo shows a red accent wall.
The second photo made me think that a multicolor striped accent on the wall might look good.
The third photo show a multicolor striped rug.
The fourth photo is really just for fun. You COULD go with a wild wallpaper, but I know I would tire of it.

Tami Jones Interior Design The blue could give it a fun and different look, but one thing to note - when you find the color you like, just adding white will not make it lighter - it can change the color itself. So I recommend going to an acutal paint store (Benjamin Moore, Sherwin Williams, etc) rather than a big box store and talk to them about the color and how to get it to the value that you want. A very pretty lighter tiffany blue from the "color stories" line at Benjamin Moore is "cool breeze csp-665" - you wouldn't need to lighten it up at alll! Good luck!
