Centsible Designs, LLC The best thing you can do here is a wall of built-ins, that will surround the fireplace, incorporate the tv
and give the entire wall a cohesiveness. Cabinets on the bottom will give weight, storage and allow you to hide media equipment. Good luck!

cellis89 I agree, get online and find a fireplace/wall set-up similar to yours with a built-in arrangement and use it as guideline.

wmpj Add a rectangular picture or mirror above the fireplace to balance out that wall. Can the tall speaker that's on the mantel be moved to the floor? I think long beautiful drapes just on the sides of the windows hung close to the ceiling would look great. You could also add some artwork on the wall behind the sofa (across from the large window).

Dytecture I also agree with combining the fireplace and TV to make it look like one unit.

nFORMAL design What's your budget? I'd find a local furniture/cabinetmaker and have that wall unit custom made to fit the space. It will pay dividends and seamlessly integrate into the space.

Also, an interior designer could make it flow and he/she could help bring out the full potential of the space.

lkilgore75 Get some trim around that window and casing. I am a home designer and work in high end homes and this new trend of sheetrock mullions between windows is not a good idea. Paint the sheetrock the same white as the trim and then get some casing to go around that window to highlight it. 9 times out of 10 trim work will kick any decors butt.

I don't know if it is in your budget but that flat area in the center needs to be higher. Would look nice if it went all the way to the top into a vault.

Jayme Hobbs Agree a built in is probably best option, my next would be to remove speaker from mantle, get a less bulky table/stand or t.v., remove mantle, try to balance wall with a pic above fireplace & some type of unit to the left of fireplace...

nFORMAL design Again...an architect/interior designer can help design the space and also let you know if it is possible to open up that vault. If the budget is low, I would save that for last.

All About Interiors LLC Hi,
Addressing the fireplace/tv area. I agree with Dytecture, you need a built in to balance out the space. I also feel that window needs some attention with some stationary panels on either side to balance out the space and draw your eye upward. The sectional needs a console table behind it (never leave the back of a sofa exposed). The wall behind the sectional is bare and could use some attention with either a storage bench along the wall or possibly some bookcases to store accessories/books etc. I highly recommend hiring a designer, you have a few issues there that could use a professional's expertise. I hope this was helpful. www.allaboutinteriors.org
