Need help choosing paint color for my bathroom
We are planning to redo this small bathroom in a few years so I do not want to put a lot of money into it now, I am just trying to make it a little more current until we can afford to redo it. I recently painted the cabinets and doors in Benjamin Moore Linen White as seen here and am now planning to remove this wallpaper and paint the walls. I was thinking of painting them Benjamin Moore "Magic Potion" but I am having seconds thoughts now about it blending in too much with the beige tile. Any suggestions for me on paint color?

cohoek Hmmm . pink..... not my favorite. I think I would paint the walls in the same color as the doors or the tiles. Theres too much going on. Like your door color. Would paint the frame of the mirror in the same color too. Maybe the pink won't be too bad if its the only other color, could live with this...

Jayme Hobbs I agree, it would be too close to the tiles...what other colors do u like?

Dytecture I agree, "Magic Potion" is too intense for the current tiles, consider "November Rain" or "Shale" which are softer.

Curb Appeal Renovations Not sure if BM has a site like Sherwin Williams, but go to their site, pull up their color visualizer and upload your bathroom photo, I think the one with the shower/tub/tile will work best since it has the "pink" colored tiles and try different colored walls to see what will look best. I know "most" designers like BM better, but THIS designer likes SW better!!

jessmalzman1 I guess it is a bit hard to tell because the lighting is not great, but the 2 doors in the bathroom and their trim are both the same color as the cabinets and the mirror frame. All of the woodwork in the bathroom is painted Linen White. The tile, if I had to choose a paint color, matches most closely to Bayshore Beige, in case that helps. My bedroom, which is connected to this bathroom, is a light Sage green color (I am not sure of the exact color as it was already painted when I moved in), so I am trying to avoid painting the bathroom too similar a color.

aniluap2 I had a similar color olean tile in a house tears ago and it had a pinky tone which I minimized by painting the walls a milk chocolate and then they appeared less pink. Not sure you want to go that direction but it soul certainly work with the sage and linen white.

Jayme Hobbs Brown would look good too! With all the light tiles, etc..should work well!

Terri Symington, ASID I would paint it the same color as the cabinetry and trim... other wise you will have too many colors going on in such a small space. If you do go with a different color... be careful not to mix pink undertones with yellow undertones in the same space.

Terri Symington, ASID After looking at you paint selection for your cabinetry and door... it looks like you have already mixed yellow with the pink undertones. You might want to reconsider that linen color for one with a pink undertone... with the right selection you will not notice the undertone, but with the yellow in the linen and the pink in the beige tiles... they will always fight each other.

aniluap2 Can't find sedona brown on my BM color chart but sorrel brown 1236 or fox hollow 1235 might work. I guess the tiles have a mauve hue looking at magic potion. Yo need to try samples in your light to see what you think.

aniluap2 Actually found Sedona brown I think it is too yellow toned. Jayme I can't find taupe fedora but while looking for it I found taupetone 1013 that would also work. What # is that jayme , I can't find it in the directory.

aniluap2 Is that Ben Moore . The number seems different to those paints but the color of the picture you posted looks good on my screen was just trying to look at it next to magic potion.

aniluap2 Thanks jayme . I looked it up and it is in a deck I don't own . My decks are older but that one looks really interesting because they say they use black in the colors. That would make them more muted like the farrow and ball line that I love. I will check them out. I'm sure that color is just great since you always give such tasteful advice.

Jayme Hobbs Hey thanks aniluap@! What a kind thing to say! I appreciate that a lot, I enjoy looking at gorgeous things and imagine they are mine! ha ha!! But it is fun to try to help and be creative too...always learning new things! P.S. I really am not experienced with the color, just thought it may work.

aniluap2 I'm an amateur too! However, I have gotten a lot on firsthand experience renovating the many homes we have lived in through all our moves. It is fun to be creative and there are some people's ideas that always stand out for me and yours are among them. Keep the ideas coming.
