New house- placement of appliances?
as per yesterdays request; here is a sketch of the kitchen area..any suggestions would be greatly appreciated- 2 person house/ likes to entertain, cooking over Mw' , coffee/bar & prep sink, need to be placed, wall oven, fridge..right now sink & Dw were discussed as being in island, hubby would prefer the cooktop go in the corner for easier ventlation.

Straight A Builders, Inc. A ventilation challenge might be a small price to pay to put the cook-top in another spot and save the corner for cabinets. Did he have a corner hood in mind? Maybe cook-top where the fridge is shown, move fridge down for better access to it around island, and pantry in NE corner. Orient the island N-S. Wall oven next to fridge. So starting at 4' window going down the West wall: Sink, DW, Cooktop, Oven, Fridge. Prep space will be on island and over dishwasher. Make sure to leave a couple extra inches for the fridge doors to operate if along a wall. Island could have large drawers and be plenty long for entertaining space.
