Color for front door
We currently are building a beach cottage in a community located on the Chesapeake Bay. The two-story main house will be horizontal Hardie-plank clapboard and vertical batten board. All of the batten board and trim will be painted white and the hardii-plank will be painted Sherwin Williams "Tradewinds" - a light blue with a hint of green. We cannot decide on a color for the front door which will be 2/3 glass and located on a porch. Any help or sugestions for the front door color would be most appreciated.

A. Peltier Interiors That is a tough one, I guess there are many ways in which you can go with it. Do you have any pictures so far of the home that you can post? I would at the very least start searching homes on houzz and see what colors you like with that blue. You can search anything, inside and outside photos, your just looking for your blue color and how it compliments other colors. Then start gathering photos that catch your eye and I think you will eventually find yourself a winner. Sounds like an exciting project though!

Ironwood Builders Nautical colors are good. Or New England style. Navy Blue with the green/blue or...I once brought a cranberry into the paint store and had them match that! Looked great on a blue/grey house!
