Twisted Minds Custom Designs Hard to see exactly but a few things I notice. You need a cabinet of some sort next to dishwasher to support countertop at that point. Your work triangle is large and the island in middle may become cumbersome, could you maybe revamp the walkin pantry an refrigerator placement so you have unobstructed path from fridge to stove or maybe move stove closer to corner and put fridge on same wall. Could you maybe just give a closeup pic of the kitchen drawing area to give better view, also a directional arrow letting us know which way is south and which wall is being moved.

nightbirds yes, here is existing kitchen. wall being moved is rock faced wall. thank-you I appreciate the input.

Twisted Minds Custom Designs The plan is functional, but it seems you are actually losing countertop space with new layout. If you are comfortable with that, then I would still suggest moving fridge to cooktop wall, this way you can get some counter space by stove/micro unit. Is the island going to be dual height, seating height at chairs and counter height on the remainder, or hopefully barstool height throughout? This will make up for lost counter space around perimeter and lend to a good working food prep area inside the work triangle.
