Brick fireplace
Floors are brick, painted the fireplace years ago (they were not the same brick) trying to decide on leaving the painted brick and get new mantel or covering fieplace

A Kitchen That Works LLC Given the exposed brick floor, I think you are better off staying with the painted brick but changing the mantle would be a nice touch.

rhraker I would paint the fireplace brick and wood paneling (same color) and get new mantle.

kathygran I'm thinking of doing the mantel in a traditional (like the library paneling) but maybe in the same color of the kitchen which you can see from the den
