What granite, slate, or marble stone surround for this fireplace?
The fireplace wall above the gas fireplace surround will be Ruskin Room Green (SW 0042) and the adjacent walls will be Biltmore Buff (SW 7691), what color stone stone surround would go best with these colors? The floor will be Valhalla Birch by Formica (7" wide planks) in this 1916 cottage gatehouse house.

Jeffrey Brooks Interior Design Cottage= River stone, Blue slate, crackled tiles. Whatever you pick I'd use something with a country flavor, not polished slab or shiney squares.

Interiors International, Inc. I would use a marble either carrera, travertine or something like that just a 6"to 8" around the fire box. Find a nice mantel piece again marble or a stone would be nice but wood will work. Treat the rest of the wall with traditional raised paneled wood. You can probably tell I like English traditional country manor homes.
