I have a galley kitchen with a nook that is badly in need of replacing. We have larger dogs who go from outdoors through kitchen to living room. Current vinyl floor is 15+ years old and gauged from claws and just old and grotty. Considered tile for durability but it's hard on feet and cold in Pacific NW winters. Love wood but concerned about gauges and scratches. Do not want laminate. Used Armstrong commercial tiles in a rental and I appreciate how they have held up. What is your opinion of those?
Style of house is 1950 cottage/bungalow. Cabinets are white. Appliances are stainless steel. Counter-tops, currently a blue formica, will be updated to a grey stone; soapstone or quartz. We like a classic or retro look in materials. Appreciate any thoughts.
