mmilos Keep with warm colors like you have. I would paint the house a much lighter beige so the roof provides some darker contrast. Paint the trim a crisp white to enlarge your white vinyl windows. Paint the garage the siding color so it blends in more, then paint your front door a fun color, like steel blue. Replace the light sconces flanking your garage with some larger ones.
If possible, remove the shelf-like trim above the garage. It just emphasizes the off-centeredness of the garage and gable.
Barbara Griffith Designs I agree with almost everything "mmilos" has said, except painting it a much lighter color than the roof, to me the roof is a much lighter color. I would look for something more neutral, as it looks quite gold now, and the garage door should virtually always be the color of the siding. I also am not always a fan of white trim, often it jumps out too much..I prefer a different shade of the siding color. I won't offer a suggestion for color because we really cannot see the roof color very well and that is a large factor in color choice. If you could add another picture showing the roof color better is would help everyone. Yes, remove the "shelf".
K Chap awesome! thank you both so much. here is the back - shows the roof a little better - i don't like the roof color so i'm having a hard time finding a color that i like that looks good... it's also hard to get past the current color - so not my style.
Lkristine What a pretty house. I actually like the actual color of the house in just a slightly lighter version. Take the large shelf off above the garage and paint the trim a very dark brown. The roof has a tan/pink tint. I would incorporate the color of the roof with the garage door, but then play it down with your trim color, yard and landscaping. Here is a neutral version of your yard/home. Hire somebody to help with landscaping, or do a lot of research and DIY.....either way, you have a beautiful home with tons of potential!
Barbara Griffith Designs I don't care for the dark trim on a light house. Taking the roof into account, I would choose something like Sherwin Williams SW 6043 - "Unfussy Beige" for the body of the house and SW 6042 - "Hush White" for the trim. with garage painted the same as the walls. Consider adding shutters to the windows, painted in the trim color. Trim large bush and add low planting along the front of the house
ASVInteriors I agree with misecretary. It is a lovely tree. I also think as a result of the colour designs kindly posted by SPACIALISTS, the top left works the best as it really sets the tree off. In the others, I feel the tree and house are competing....
rinqreation Spacialist, I really like the picture where you made creamy white with the dark trims (and white windows)! I'd paint the garage+frontdoor a tan like the roof. The light color brightens the green in the tree too.
K Chap At specialist. This isn't in el segundo. We are moving out of town. I love your color combos but you changed the roof color to a dark one. I realize there a lot more combo ideas with a dark roof. My issue is that this is a newer roof that is reddish tanish orangish ick. So that's the piece that I can't really change. So appreciate your efforts!
If possible, remove the shelf-like trim above the garage. It just emphasizes the off-centeredness of the garage and gable.
Where is this house, I live in El Segundo too, i have never seen that house lol. Anyways i attached some design options hope they help.
